Nike to Air Lennon Song: For the first time, an original song performed by former Beatle John Lennon will be featured in a TV commercial in the United States. The song, “Instant Karma,” will appear in an advertisements for Nike’s new Air Huarache shoes. It is scheduled to premiere Saturday night. Use of the song was authorized by Yoko Ono Lennon, who is donating the fees to the United Negro College Fund. In 1987, Nike was the first advertiser to use an original Beatles work in a TV spot--the song “Revolution.”
