ADVERTISING: What good is voting power if politicians don’t recognize it? . . . To make sure they do, John Kumbera, chief of the county’s senior citizen advisory committee, sent them letters suggesting that older voters are more powerful than they seem. A quarter of the county’s registered voters are 60 or older, but they cast nearly half the votes in the last general election. . . . “It was no veiled threat or anything,†he says. “We wanted to let them know that we’re loyal.â€
