A company might pay $10,000 or more to set up its own elder-care referral program. But there are some less costly options:
--Analyze how existing employee benefits, such as flex-time and job-sharing, can be tailored to individual elder-care problems.
--Sponsor educational seminars to inform employees of available community services.
--Survey employees to determine how many need to care for aging relatives.
--Make sure middle managers support the elder-care program envisoned by the firm’s president.
