Bye Bye Betty: Consumer affairs reporter Betty Furness has been dropped from the “Today†show after 16 years on the NBC program. She will make her last appearance on March 18. Furness, 76, said NBC told her they wanted to do more investigative consumer reporting. NBC and the Emmy-winner, who recovered from cancer about 18 months ago, said she may make special appearances on “Today†in the future.
