Crenshaw 58, South Gate 32--Three players scored in double figures to lead the Cougars (19-4) to an easy Division 4-A first-round victory at Crenshaw.
Catherine Grice scored 12 points and Tonya Barton and Victoria Ruffin had 11 each for Crenshaw.
Nancy Maciel led South Gate (10-7) with 12 points.
Carson 78, Westchester 34--The Colts took a 40-14 halftime lead on their way to an easy 4-A victory at home.
Carson (16-6) was paced by Bernice Alafua’s 22 points. Kaimo Newton had 16.
Belmont 47, Sylmar 37--The Sentinels (17-7) used a 24-15 second quarter to take control of the 3-A game at Belmont.
Center Maria Corral led Belmont with a game-high 15 points. Ronice Scater led Sylmar with 12.
Garfield 42, Van Nuys Grant 39--Deana Duran scored 13 points and had 10 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs to a 3-A come-from-behind victory at Grant. Garfield trailed, 37-28, after three quarters.
Nicole Baynes led Grant (12-4) with 12 points and 13 rebounds. After the game, Grant Coach Susan Sweet announced her resignation after seven seasons at the school.
North Hollywood 51, Harbor City Narbonne 39--Karma Goodman had a game-high 14 rebounds for the host Huskies (18-4) in a 4-A contest.
