Duke’s Grant Hill Hurt, Might Not Face UCLA

Grant Hill, No. 3 scorer and No. 2 rebounder for the top-ranked Duke basketball team, suffered an injured right ankle during practice Tuesday and is “very doubtful” for tonight’s game against Virginia, Coach Mike Krzyzewski said.
Krzyzewski, whose team will play UCLA Sunday at Pauley Pavilion, declined to speculate on Hill’s status beyond tonight.
X-rays revealed no broken bones, but Krzyzewski said the injury is similar to a high-ankle sprain suffered during December by freshman Cherokee Parks, who was sidelined for about three weeks. Hill was injured when Parks fell on him.
Hill, a 6-foot-8 sophomore who is averaging 15 points and 5.7 rebounds, has been filling in at point guard for the last three weeks in the absence of Bobby Hurley, who is sidelined because of a broken foot.
