Bonita Vista Ineligible
SAN DIEGO — Bonita Vista, the third seed in the boys’ Division I soccer playoffs, was ruled ineligible for the playoffs on Monday by the Metro Conference for using an illegal player. Southwest (10-4-7) will take Bonita Vista’s place in the tournament and play at Poway in the first round at 5 tonight.
The player, a non-starter who scored one goal played in a outside soccer match on Dec. 15, a violation of Rule 600 of the San Diego Section Green Book.
