Robert C. Goodell has resigned as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Amwest Insurance Group Inc., a Woodland Hills-based underwriter of bail bonds and other surety products. Amwest said Goodell, who also resigned as a director, left to pursue other business interests.

Arthur F. Melton, Amwest’s senior vice president, will serve as interim chief financial officer until a permanent replacement can be found, the company said.
