The Albertville Report: CBS’ coverage of Saturday’s Winter Olympics opening ceremonies gave the network a victory for the night, but failed to reach the average rating promised to advertisers. CBS drew a 15.9 rating for the 25 major metered markets, according to Nielsen figures. CBS has pledged that the games will average a 17 rating, and expects the games’ glamour event, figure skating, to buoy interest.
