Mesa College President Allen Brooks, a computer buff, will become the new vice chancellor of academic and student affairs for the San Diego Community College District with special responsibility for both academic and administrative computer operations.
Brooks has been president of Mesa since 1979, which is the largest of the district’s three campuses with 28,000 students. He will remain there until late spring finishing up several projects.
District Chancellor Augustine Gallego expects a four-to-six month search for a new president at Mesa.
