THOUSAND OAKS : 4 Robbers Hold Up Jewelry Store
Four robbers held up a Thousand Oaks jewelry store at gunpoint Wednesday and escaped with an undisclosed amount of jewelry, authorities said.
The theft resembled four other robberies of Thousand Oaks jewelry stores committed in the last year.
The robbery occurred at 12:25 p.m. when a man entered Dewane Jewelers at 3825 E. Thousand Oaks Blvd., followed shortly by two more men, said Sheriff’s Sgt. Steven M. Bourke.
One of the men displayed a handgun and the trio then smashed display cases and grabbed the jewelry, Bourke said.
The robbers escaped in a car driven by a fourth man. The car, abandoned a short distance away, had been stolen in Los Angeles, the sergeant said.
