Olympic downhill favorite Franz Heinzer of Switzerland, in his final warmup event for the Winter Olympics, won a World Cup downhill race at Wengen, Switzerland. It was Heinzer’s fourth downhill victory of the season.
America’s top Olympic hopeful, AJ Kitt, winner of the season-opening downhill at Val d’Isere, finished 4.26 seconds off the pace. Overall World Cup leader Paul Accola of Switzerland was five seconds back.
