Regarding the Jan. 11 column “What Does Halt of ‘Love’ Mean for Sitcoms?,” Rick Du Brow fails to point out that the power to keep a show on the air now lies in the hands of multiseries producers such as Miller/Boyett and Carsey/Werner, who have established ratings winners and the clout to persuade networks to keep their struggling shows on the air. If John Ritter produced “Roseanne,” “Anything but Love” would be anything but off the air.
