Trout Fishing Remains Good at the Southland’s Reservoirs
- Share via
The action is strictly trout at most Southland reservoirs, and fishermen are doing particularly well as the Department of Fish and Game, making room for its new allotments, continues to unload its larger holdover fish from 1991.
Top catch in a state-stocked reservoir was a 3-pound 8-ounce rainbow pulled from Lake Castaic by Butch Houska of North Hollywood.
At the privately operated Irvine Lake, where large trout are stocked each week, the best fish was a 5 1/2-pound rainbow caught by David Cisneros of Santa Ana.
