Arrests: Police in Johannesburg on Monday arrested two black radicals involved in protests against singer Paul Simon’s tour of South Africa. A police spokesman said Thami Mcerwa, president of the Azanian Youth Organization, and Stephen Peter of the Azanian People’s Organization had been questioned about a hand grenade attack last week on the offices of the tour organizers. Peter was released within hours of the arrests but Mcerwa was still in custody late Monday. The detained leader’s organization said it plans to demonstrate at Simon’s remaining shows in South Africa.
