SANTA ANA — Two men were shot to death in Santa Ana on Thursday in separate but almost simultaneous incidents, police said.
Police received calls at about 7 p.m. reporting a body near a school and a street fight downtown, Sgt. Dave Petko said.
An anonymous caller reported a man slumped in the driver’s seat of a bullet-riddled car at Edinger Avenue and Raitt Street, police said.
The man, identified only as between 18 and 22 years old, had one bullet wound in the right temple, Petko said.
At the same time, a store owner near Fourth and French streets called police to report a large street fight and gunshots. When police arrived, they found one man, identified only as 20 years old, dead in the street with gunshot wounds in the head, Petko said.
Police had not identified the two victims by late Thursday.
