Nation IN BRIEF : MICHIGAN : Stabbing Attack on Priest Labeled a Hoax

A reported break-in at a church and a stabbing attack on its priest were staged by the clergyman himself, who would not explain his motive, police in Dearborn, Mich., said. Father Ronald Green had staged similar attacks on himself in the 1970s, before he became a priest, authorities said. Green initially told police he was attacked Thursday during his morning prayer session at Sacred Heart Church. He then confessed that he stabbed himself, officers said.
