Gunman Wounds 2 at Mall in Culver City
A gunman shot two men at the main entrance to the Fox Hills Mall in Culver City on Monday, police said.
The victims, both 20, were taken to UCLA Medical Center. One was in serious condition with a gunshot wound in his chest, said Sgt. Paul Harada, spokesman for the Culver City Police Department. The other was in guarded condition with a gunshot wound in his shoulder. Their names were not released.
Witnesses to the 4 p.m. shooting said the gunman walked up to the victims and argued briefly with them before firing. Police, who said the shooting did not appear gang-related, were questioning a man they detained near the scene.
