Air Force Provides B-2 Funding, Northrop Says: Northrop Corp. said the Air Force has provided the remaining $1.9 billion of funding for previously authorized work on the B-2 Stealth bomber. The company said it was raising its projected rate of earning on the B-2 program, which would boost the company’s operating margin in the fourth quarter by $40 million. Northrop said the increase in the fourth-quarter operating margin would be equal to 56 cents a share after taxes. Congress signaled in November that it planned to halt production of the Northrop plane at the currently planned total of 15 but postponed a final decision. The B-2 has a price tag of $850 million per plane.
