Boy Killed at Target Range Is Identified
Authorities Monday identified a youth who was accidentally killed at a shooting range in the Angeles National Forest as Marco Ramirez, 16, of Los Angeles.
Ramirez was shot once in the head Saturday at the Kentucky Canyon Shooting Range south of Palmdale, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy George Ducoulombier said. A friend, Juan Rojero, 24, of Los Angeles thought his gun was not loaded when he pointed it at Ramirez, shooting him once, deputies said.
The boy died at the scene.
The shooting was labeled accidental and no charges were filed against Rojero, Ducoulombier said.
