Matt Biondi edged fellow world-record holder Tom Jager by four-tenths of a second to win the 50-meter freestyle at the Texas-U.S. National Team dual swim meet. Three-time Olympic gold medalist Janet Evans pulled ahead of Texas’ Erika Hansen to win the 400-meter individual medley by 2.19 seconds.
