HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL : Ramona Falls in First Round of Florida Tournament

Edgewater High of Orlando, Fla., shot 65% from the floor and scored a 65-41 victory over Ramona on Wednesday in the first round of the Dr. Phillips Tournament of Champions in Orlando.
Ramona plays tonight against Orlando’s Jones High in the second round of the 16-team, double-elimination tournament.
Edgewater made 28 of its 43 shots and improved to 4-1. Ramona made only 17 of 44 (39%) and fell to 1-2.
Cody Cunningham led Ramona with 14 points. Teammate Rusty Hoss scored nine.
Cunningham and Tiegh Urelius led Ramona in rebounds with four apiece.
Larry Quinn led Edgewater with 18.
Ramona pulled to within five points late in the third quarter. The Bulldogs were outscored 25-11 in the fourth period.
Nonleague
Clairemont 65, Crawford 55--Junior John Brady scored 26 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead Clairemont (4-4). Brady had four 3-point baskets. Senior Bird Meyer added a career-high eight points and 13 rebounds. Craig Mounier had 10 points and 12 rebounds.
