Huntington Park : Conservation Rules Eased to Allow More Lawn Watering
- Share via
The Huntington Park City Council has voted to relax the city’s water conservation ordinance, allowing residents to water their lawns at any time.
Since May, watering could only take place before 6 a.m. and after 6 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays. Violators faced a citation. City officials said they lifted the lawn-watering restriction because consumers have been using 23% less water compared to last year.
But residents must still observe citywide limits on water usage. Those who exceed their quotas must pay a 200% surcharge.
