COLLEGE ROUNDUP : CSUN Women’s Skid Reaches 11 With 91-76 Loss

Christine Rumfola scored a team-high 20 points and Jody Bittner added 18, but the Cal State Northridge women’s basketball team dropped its 11th game in as many tries Saturday night with a 91-76 loss to host Northern Arizona.
The Matadors outrebounded the Lumberjacks, 38-33, but Northern Arizona attempted 34 free throws (making 26); the Matadors hit seven of nine free throws.
Stacee Johnson led Northern Arizona (4-1) with 21 points.
In another women’s game:
Valley 74, Grossmont 48--Wendy Bruse made of nine of 13 shots from the field and scored 18 points as the Monarchs (9-1) won a nonconference game in San Diego.
MEN
Kings River 76, Canyons 67--David Langley scored 20 points for Canyons in the championship game of the Mid-State tournament at Cuesta College.
Cuesta 77, Moorpark 68--Steve Carnes scored a team-high 21 points, but Moorpark (3-9) blew an 11-point halftime lead in the third-place game of the Mid-State tournament.
Harbor 86, Oxnard 84--Kent Bennett hit an eight-foot jump shot at the buzzer to give the Seahawks a nonconference win.
