Sununu Resigns

In response to “Sununu Quits to Avoid Being Campaign Drag,” Dec. 4:
There is something rather royal in the manner in which the many (over 100 now) hirelings, lofty and low, have fallen on their swords (call it political hara-kiri) after having either offended their liege lord, or been found out while engaging in all manner of scams and sleazes.
The latest, White House Chief of Staff John Sununu, a rather lofty one at that, continues a long line of the self-slain dating back to the earliest days since the founding of the Reagan-Bush Dynasty. His wish that he not be a burden to his chief is in keeping with the utter deference demanded by this royal routine.
It is a grand spectacle. I wonder who will be next?
