CALIFORNIA IN BRIEF : HUNTINGTON BEACH : Driver Fatally Shoots Passenger in 2nd Car
- Share via
A driver with a shotgun opened fire on another car in broad daylight on busy Beach Boulevard Friday, fatally hitting a 19-year-old passenger in the head. Police said the two drivers, who apparently had been arguing, were stopped next to each other in 11 a.m. traffic when one of them reached into the back seat, pulled out a pistol-handled shotgun and fired into the other car. That driver ducked, but the shot struck and killed his passenger, Steve Kiley Escalera of Anaheim. The killer, driving a light-blue, 1976 or 1978 Pontiac Grand Prix, remains at large.
