Company Gets Airline Video Systems Contract: BE Avionics Inc., Santa Ana, a manufacturer of airline passenger entertainment systems, said Friday it won a $15-million contract from British Airways to install video systems in its airliners. BE Avionics will install the video systems in the backs of seats so that each passenger in the Club class section can individually view videocassettes. The company will install the systems in 78 British Airways aircraft. Together with orders from Hong Kong-based Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines, BE Avionics has $30 million in orders for the systems. If options to buy additional aircraft are exercised, the orders could mean $200 million in business to BE Avionics.
