COMMUNITY COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Johnson Paces Golden West

Sophomore forward Mark Johnson scored a game-high 24 points as Golden West defeated Mt. San Antonio, 74-64, Wednesday in the first round of the Riverside Holiday Tournament.
Johnson scored 14 points in the second half as Golden West (6-5) outscored Mt. SAC, 47-30. He was 10 of 11 from the field and also had a team-high nine rebounds.
Greg Evans added 16 and Paig Parish 12 for Golden West, which plays Imperial Valley at 3 p.m. today.
In nonconference men’s basketball:
Cerritos 94, Rancho Santiago 72--Host Cerritos (8-2) made 22 of 24 free-throw attempts. Rick Swanwick scored 18 points for Rancho Santiago (7-4).
Los Angeles Harbor 97, Fullerton 69--Garry Hunter had 17 and Bob Terry had 16 for visiting Fullerton (5-4). Eric Carpenter had 20 points for Harbor (6-4).
In nonconference women’s basketball:
Saddleback 73, San Diego City 63--Stefanie Moorman had 22 points and Erin Schimeneck had 18 points, 13 rebounds and 10 blocked shots for visiting Saddleback (9-1). Fredricka Dean and Colette Robinson each scored 20 points for San Diego (3-7).
Orange Coast 58, Mt. San Antonio 52--Jana Davis had 14 points and Nicole Champion had 13 points and seven rebounds for the host Pirates (8-3).
