Xerox to Cut Work Force: Xerox Corp. said it will cut its work force by 2,500 as part of a continuing effort to lower overhead costs. The company said it would reduce its pretax earnings for the fourth quarter by $175 million to cover costs associated with the cuts. Xerox said it expects to save about $150 million in 1992 and $200 million annually by reducing its worldwide document processing work force, which now is about 101,000 employees. The cuts will be completed by the middle of 1992.
