CSUN Women Lose Game, Player

The Cal State Northridge women’s basketball team lost another game and another starter Tuesday, dropping a 77-55 nonconference decision to host Pepperdine while watching senior forward Shagarro Lattin limp to the sideline with a sprained ankle.
Lattin joined Bridgette Ealy and Lisa Senette on the injured list for the 0-5 Matadors. Ealy and Senette, CSUN’s top returners from last season, have torn anterior cruciate ligaments, which might require surgery.
Lattin, who scored a team-high 12 points, was hurt with 17 seconds remaining and is expected to be out at least a week. Pepperdine’s sticky man-to-man defense and full-court pressure forced Northridge to turn the ball over 37 times, 24 times in the first half when CSUN fell behind, 41-20. Eleven players, led by guards Aimee McDaniel (13 points) and Linda Waters (13 points), contributed to the scoring for Pepperdine (3-1).
