Enger Leads USD Past E. Washington

Chris Enger had 17 points, eight rebounds and four blocked shots as the University of San Diego women’s basketball team buried Eastern Washington, 95-67, in the second round of Rainbow Wahine Classic in Honolulu Saturday. Jill Shaver and Lynda Jones added 15 and 12 points for the Toreras (1-2), who will face Ball State in the consolation game today.
Point Loma Nazarene’s balanced scoring couldn’t match explosive David Lipscomb of Tennessee in a 101-70 defeat in the Plainview (Tex.) Queens Classic consolation game. The Crusaders (2-3) got 16 points from Camille Armijo and 12 each from Rochelle Lightner, Christy Stevens and Carrie Carambas. Lipscomb (5-4) is ranked 20th in NAIA.
Ten players scored for San Diego State as the Aztecs defeated Gonzaga, 69-54, in the consolation final of the Titan Gatorade Classic at Fullerton.
Kieishsha Garnes scored 14 points and had nine rebounds for SDSU (2-1). Teammate Michelle Suman added 14 points and Falisha Wright contributed 12.
Gonzaga remained winless at 0-4.
