HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL SOUTHERN SECTION PLAYOFFS
Dominguez 49, Thousand Oaks 33--Running backs Robert Jenkins and James Jackson each rushed for more than 100 yards to lead Dominguez (10-2) to a Division II victory at Thousand Oaks.
Jenkins gained 171 yards in 17 carries and two touchdowns, and Jackson added 137 yards in 11 carries and two touchdowns.
Thousand Oaks (9-3) was led by running back Cory Bowen, who gained 105 yards in 18 carries.
Palm Desert 26, Rancho Santa Margarita 25--A bad snap kept kicker Sean O’Brien from getting off a 24-yard field goal attempt with two seconds remaining, as Palm Desert (8-4) held on for a Division V victory at Saddleback College.
Trailing, 26-25, Santa Margarita (7-4-1) moved the ball from its 31-yard line to the Palm Desert seven in the final two minutes. But on the field goal attempt, holder Josh Ireland could not handle the snap.
Minutes earlier, Lucas also had trouble with a snap on the point-after-touchdown attempt when Santa Margarita had pulled within 26-25.
Santa Margarita blew a 19-0 second-quarter lead.
Montebello Schurr 28, Anaheim Loara 14--After trailing, 14-0, in the first quarter, Schurr (10-2) rallied on three interceptions and a fumble recovery in a Division III game at Loara (7-5).
