SOUTHERN SECTION FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS : SCC Takes Early Lead, Rolls Over Maranatha
SAN MARINO — Southern California Christian beat Maranatha, 37-8, in a Southern Section Division X playoff game Friday night at San Marino High School in front of about 1,000.
Southern California Christian (10-2) will play Rosamond, which defeated Linfield, 25-12, Friday.
Southern California Christian took an early lead after Maranatha’s fake punt attempt failed to gain a first down.
Mike Jacot then scored on a 31-yard run for Southern California Christian three plays later. Southern California Christian scored again in the second quarter after the Minutemen failed to convert on fourth down at their 47.
Two plays later, Flames’ quarterback Nathan Lambie completed a 53-yard touchdown pass to Scott Williams.
Southern California Christian started the second half by marching 71 yards on 13 plays, capping the drive with a four-yard run by Jacot.
