Countywide : Youth May Be Tried as Adult in Slaying
A Ventura County Superior Court judge will hold a hearing Dec. 17 to decide whether a 17-year-old Fillmore boy accused of voluntary manslaughter will be tried as an adult.
The youth, whose name has not been disclosed, is accused of fatally stabbing Francisco Andrade, 25, of Moorpark. The slaying occurred Nov. 23 after Andrade, mistakenly believing that the youth was part of a group that had robbed him, attacked the boy in a condominium parking lot, prosecutors said.
