Fans Urged to Share Rides
SAN DIEGO — Because of the capacity crowd of 61,133 expected for tonight’s San Diego State-Brigham Young game at San Diego Jack Murphy Stadium, SDSU officials are recommending fans car pool and arrive early.
Stadium parking lots will open at 2:30 p.m. today and entrance gates will open at 5:30 p.m.
And for the first time in more than 12 years for an Aztec game, San Diego Transit is offering shuttle buses to the stadium from several locations. Fans can begin boarding the buses at 5 p.m., and the last bus will leave each location at 6:30 p.m. Fare is $4 round trip per person or $2.50 one way, and exact change is required.
Buses will depart from the following locations:
* Downtown/Hillcrest shuttle (starts at 10th & C streets and will operate up 5th and 6th avenues).
* El Cajon Transit Center (two blocks south of Main and Marshall).
* Grossmont Trolley Station (on Fletcher Parkway).
* Kearny Mesa Traffic Court (Clairmont Mesa Blvd. and Complex St.).
* Market Place at the Grove (opposite Grove Bowling).
* Mira Mesa Park and Ride (Mira Mesa Blvd. and I-15).
* Plaza Bonita Shopping Center (Plaza Bonita Center Rd.).
