Johnson, Mitchell Lead La Habra to 36-15 Victory Over Sonora

Running back Jason Johnson rushed for 125 yards and La Habra quarterback Grant Mitchell passed for 150 and three touchdowns to lead the Highlanders to a 36-15 victory over Sonora in a Freeway League game at La Habra Stadium.

With the victory, the Highlanders (4-5-1, 2-3 in league) captured the city championship for the 15th consecutive year.

The Raiders (3-7, 1-4) drove 69 yards in 11 plays on their initial possession, and Kurtis Lucero scored on a three-yard run. After a Raider safety, Mitchell hit Blake Palmer for an eight-yard touchdown in the second quarter. He later scored on a one-yard run to give La Habra a 15-7 halftime lead. Steve Busch caught a pair of touchdown passes in the third quarter, a 53-yarder and an 18-yarder.

Johnson put the Highlanders up, 36-7, with a nine-yard run.

The Raiders got their final touchdown when Robert Magdaleno scored from 40 yards out.
