Gun Found in Official’s Bag at St. Louis Airport

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Missouri’s state treasurer says his haste to catch a plane in St. Louis made him forget about a loaded semiautomatic pistol in his carry-on bag. Police slowed him down.
“It was very embarrassing,†state Treasurer Wendell Bailey said Thursday.
The 9-millimeter pistol was detected this week when Bailey’s bag passed through a metal detector at a Lambert Airport security gate, officials said.
