Hold the Award: Also down in Memphis, the Memphis Symphony Ball has dropped plans to honor the Henry Fonda family for its contributions to the arts after getting complaints about Jane Fonda’s political past. A co-chairman said the Fonda family deserves the award “when examined for their artistic contribution†but added that for some in the community, Jane’s political past cannot be separated from the family’s artistic efforts. No award will be presented this year.
