Dial Plans to Spin Off Units: Dial Corp. said it plans to spin off its financial businesses and focus on consumer products and services as it moves away from its roots as an inter-city bus line. If the deal goes through, the Phoenix-based company said it will take a onetime charge of up to $155 million to pay for the restructuring. Although the plan has received tentative approval from its directors, the company said it needs to renegotiate several credit agreements and get shareholder approval before it can be finalized.
