15-Year-Old Boy Killed in Drive-By Shooting
A 15-year-old boy was killed in a drive-by shooting while making a telephone call from a service station in Duarte, authorities said Monday.
Cornell Delaney of Compton was outside a Mobil station on Huntington Drive when he was shot in the upper torso at 5:35 p.m. Sunday by someone in a light-colored, older-model Chevrolet sedan, Sheriff’s Deputy Bill Linnemeyer said.
The boy was taken to Santa Teresita Hospital in Duarte, where he was pronounced dead at 6:30 p.m. Investigators on Monday had not determined a motive for the slaying, Linnemeyer said.
