In his last two games, Jim Everett has completed 68% of his passes, thrown for four touchdowns, turned in a performance against the Raiders that his coach said might have been his best, and raised his quarterback rating back to a respectable 74.2 mark.

But Everett says he feels just as he did during his statistically bleak days earlier in the season, that his numbers reflect what the offense around him allows him to do.

“I always look at it as I’ve never left; nevertheless, I’m back,†Everett said. “Maybe I just don’t pay attention to (critics).

“There were a lot of little things as an offensive unit that we weren’t getting done. There were a lot of things I wasn’t getting done.

“Again, as successful as I’d say I’ve been over the last two weeks, I’d compliment our team as well as the other way (around) when we weren’t getting things done.â€

Tailback Marcus Dupree’s long-awaited activation may be delayed if he doesn’t recover quickly from a sudden case of flu, Coach John Robinson said Thursday. Robinson had told Dupree that he would be moving off the injured-reserve list.
