WORLD IN BRIEF : ISRAEL : Court Lets Settlers Stay in Seized House

Israel’s Supreme Court ruled that Jewish militants can remain temporarily in a home they seized in mostly Arab East Jerusalem on Oct. 9. A Justice Ministry spokeswoman said a temporary injunction bars police from evicting the militants. The settlers originally occupied six houses but vacated five in a deal with Israeli authorities. They now are pursuing ownership claims to all the houses in court.
