Long Beach : Professor to Be Tried Jan. 10 in Murder of His Landlord

A Superior Court judge has set a January trial date for a Cal State Long Beach professor accused of shooting his landlord.
Eric Hansen, 53, who teaches business at the university, is charged with murder in the July 13 death of Anthony Dzida at the Belmont Heights home in which Hansen rented a room. The two reportedly had argued about the rent.
On Tuesday, Long Beach Superior Court Judge Victor Barrera set Hansen’s trial for Jan. 10. Dzida, 37, was a Long Beach paramedic.
