A 19-year-old man was shot in the neck Wednesday as a group of five males approached his car in the 1500 block of Bonair Road in Vista, the Sheriff’s Department reported.
Daniel Rosas drove a short distance to Alta Vista High School to get help after the 12:40 p.m. incident.
Rosas was listed in good condition at UC San Diego Medical Center after surgery to remove a bullet from his neck, hospital spokeswoman Nancy Stringer said.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Lowell Gilpen, 19, of Vista, and two boys, ages 15 and 16, at a nearby apartment complex. The gunman has not been identified, and it is not known if the assault was gang-related.
Deputies are looking for two to three more young men in connection with the shooting.
