Controversy Over No-Fault
Garamendi’s column called to mind a recent automobile accident in which I hit a car in front of me. The hit was light and the damage to the other car was nil. Yet both occupants, as though programmed, jumped from the car holding their necks as though injured. I was at fault, but so were they when it comes to the subject of the current insurance crisis in California. So are the lawyers, so are the insurers. We are all at fault!
I resent Rosenfield’s comment, “No fault is not good for consumers.†Given the crazy network of tort laws in this state, no-fault insurance is exactly what is needed to save us from ourselves.
