So Shirley Slater and Harry Basch (Sept. 8) think anyone who enjoys a tranquil, low-key cruise minus a lot of very young children surrounding them all day and at the dinner table is a curmudgeon? Please ask them to look up the word in a dictionary. Mine lists it as “a cantankerous, bad-tempered, miserly person.” I’m surprised at them.
