St. Bernard 26, Alemany 25--Alemany running back Terry Barnum was stopped one yard short of the goal line on a two-point conversion try with 3:58 to play at Alemany.

Barnum, who led all rushers with 172 yards in 28 carries, scored on runs of three, three and six yards. His final touchdown brought the Indians (2-2, 0-1) within a point.

Alemany led three times in the first half on Barnum’s first two scores and a 61-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Adam Romandi to receiver Richard Dice. However, St. Bernard (2-2, 1-0) came back to tie the score each time.

Alemany’s fine offensive performance was negated by a defense that allowed 223 yards rushing and four touchdowns on the ground, three by quarterback Chris Keldorf.
