Stacey Augmon became the first top-10 member of the NBA’s 1991 rookie class to sign a contract, becoming an Atlanta Hawk for a reported $6.5 million over five years.
Augmon was the ninth player selected in the June draft. To stay under the NBA’s salary cap, the Hawks renounced their rights to Sidney Moncrief.
