A disabled Vista man was found burned to death Wednesday night in his home after he apparently fell asleep with a lit cigarette, authorities said.
Bruce Scott Baron, 40, was found in his living room close to the front door by firefighters who arrived at his home in the 800 block of Sycamore Avenue, said Chuck Kelley, spokesman for the county medical examiner’s office.
The remains of a large dog also were found in a bedroom at the house.
