The Region : Shuttle Transfer Rates Cut
Beginning Oct. 1, West Covina shuttle and Covina trolley riders will pay a reduced rate to transfer from one service to the other.
The transfer slips will cost 10 cents, plus the full fare. Riders now pay the regular 25 cents to board the shuttle and 50 cents for the trolley. Both services stop at the Eastland Shopping Center in West Covina.
Gus Salazar, human services director, said the lower rate is more cost effective for residents.
The West Covina City Council on Monday voted 5 to 0 in favor of the intercity agreement. The Covina City Council approved it on Sept. 17.
